The Confucius Institute (CI) at the University of Lagos, established in partnership with the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China, promotes the teaching of Chinese Language and culture, supports Mandarin instruction internationally, and facilitates cultural exchange between Nigeria and China. Since its inception in 2009, the Institute has served as a vibrant bridge for academic and cultural collaboration between both nations.
The Institute is a China-Nigeria cooperation project, fulfilling the missions of the Chinese Confucius Institutes while operating according to the laws and regulations of Nigeria and local needs.
